🥔 Potato Meat Nests

Ingredients

For the Potato Base:

  • 5–6 medium potatoes
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • Fresh dill (or parsley), chopped
  • Salt & pepper

For the Filling:

  • 300 g ground beef (or chicken/turkey)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot + 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste (or sauce)
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Salt, pepper, paprika, oregano

For Topping:

  • Grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil & Mash

    • Cook potatoes, mash smooth.
    • Mix with butter, egg, dill, salt, pepper.
    • Shape into round nests with a hollow center.
  2. Cook Filling

    • Sauté onion, carrot, bell pepper in oil.
    • Add ground meat, cook until browned.
    • Stir in tomato paste + spices.
  3. Assemble

    • Fill potato nests with meat mixture.
    • Sprinkle cheese on top.
  4. Bake

    • Place on tray with parchment paper.
    • Bake at 190°C / 375°F for 20 minutes, until golden.

Serve hot with salad or yogurt sauce.
