SOFT MILK BUNS / DINNER ROLLS


INGREDIENTS:

  • 3½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp instant yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)

FOR BRUSHING:

  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)
  • Butter (to brush after baking)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
  2. Add warm milk, warm water, and egg. Mix well.
  3. Add softened butter and knead for 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Divide the dough into equal balls and place in a greased dish.
  6. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds (optional).
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Brush with butter while warm. Let cool slightly and serve!
