MOIST APPLE CAKE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 MEDIUM APPLES (THINLY SLICED)
  • 2 LARGE EGGS
  • 1/2 CUP SUGAR
  • 1 TSP VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 1/2 CUP MILK
  • 1/3 CUP VEGETABLE OIL (OR MELTED BUTTER)
  • 3/4 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1 TSP BAKING POWDER
  • PINCH OF SALT
  • POWDERED SUGAR (OPTIONAL, FOR DUSTING)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°F (175°C).
GREASE A 9-INCH ROUND CAKE PAN.

2. PREPARE APPLES.
PEEL (OPTIONAL) AND SLICE APPLES THINLY.

3. MAKE BATTER:
WHISK TOGETHER EGGS AND SUGAR.
ADD VANILLA, MILK, AND OIL. MIX WELL.
SIFT IN FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, AND SALT. STIR UNTIL SMOOTH.

4. ASSEMBLE THE CAKE:
PLACE APPLES IN THE PAN.
POUR BATTER OVER APPLES. TAP PAN TO SETTLE BATTER.

5. BAKE FOR 45–50 MINUTES
UNTIL GOLDEN AND A TOOTHPICK COMES OUT CLEAN.

6. COOL AND SERVE.
DUST WITH POWDERED SUGAR IF DESIRED.
