MOIST APPLE CAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 MEDIUM APPLES (THINLY SLICED)
- 2 LARGE EGGS
- 1/2 CUP SUGAR
- 1 TSP VANILLA EXTRACT
- 1/2 CUP MILK
- 1/3 CUP VEGETABLE OIL (OR MELTED BUTTER)
- 3/4 CUP ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
- 1 TSP BAKING POWDER
- PINCH OF SALT
- POWDERED SUGAR (OPTIONAL, FOR DUSTING)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350°F (175°C).
GREASE A 9-INCH ROUND CAKE PAN.
2. PREPARE APPLES.
PEEL (OPTIONAL) AND SLICE APPLES THINLY.
3. MAKE BATTER:
WHISK TOGETHER EGGS AND SUGAR.
ADD VANILLA, MILK, AND OIL. MIX WELL.
SIFT IN FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, AND SALT. STIR UNTIL SMOOTH.
4. ASSEMBLE THE CAKE:
PLACE APPLES IN THE PAN.
POUR BATTER OVER APPLES. TAP PAN TO SETTLE BATTER.
5. BAKE FOR 45–50 MINUTES
UNTIL GOLDEN AND A TOOTHPICK COMES OUT CLEAN.
6. COOL AND SERVE.
DUST WITH POWDERED SUGAR IF DESIRED.
