GARLIC MUSHROOMS AND BROCCOLI

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 8 oz (about 2 cups) mushrooms, sliced (cremini or button)
  • 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, lemon juice, or soy sauce for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Steam or blanch broccoli: Cook the broccoli in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then drain and set aside (or microwave with a splash of water for 3–4 minutes).

  2. Sauté mushrooms: Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their moisture and start to brown (about 5–7 minutes).

  3. Add garlic: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. Combine with broccoli: Add the cooked broccoli to the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. Season: Add salt, pepper, and any extras like a squeeze of lemon, a dash of soy sauce, or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
