These crispy chicken strips are golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect for dipping in your favorite sauces.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900g) chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tbsp water
- 1½ cups (180g) breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
- ½ cup (60g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra flavor)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into strips of your desired thickness.
- Set Up Breading Station:
- In one shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder.
- In a second shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and water.
- In a third shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using).
- Bread the Chicken:
- Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it evenly.
- Dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.
- Fry the Chicken:
- Heat about ½ inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot (around 350°F or 175°C), carefully add the chicken strips in batches.
- Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
- Drain & Serve:
- Remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces (like ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce).
Enjoy these crispy chicken strips as a snack, meal, or party appetizer! Let me know if you want a baked version or any other variations.
