Crispy Chicken Strips Recipe 🍗

These crispy chicken strips are golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and perfect for dipping in your favorite sauces.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900g) chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1½ cups (180g) breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • ½ cup (60g) grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra flavor)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into strips of your desired thickness.
  2. Set Up Breading Station:
    • In one shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and baking powder.
    • In a second shallow bowl, whisk together eggs and water.
    • In a third shallow bowl, mix breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese (if using).
  3. Bread the Chicken:
    • Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, making sure to coat it evenly.
    • Dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs.
  4. Fry the Chicken:
    • Heat about ½ inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot (around 350°F or 175°C), carefully add the chicken strips in batches.
    • Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 75°C).
  5. Drain & Serve:
    • Remove the chicken strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
    • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces (like ranch, honey mustard, or BBQ sauce).
