EASY PUFF PASTRY TURNOVERS

(MAKES 8 TURNOVERS)


INGREDIENTS:

- 2 SHEETS PUFF PASTRY (THAWED)
- 1 EGG (FOR EGG WASH)

FILLING (CHOOSE ONE):

SWEET:

  • 1 CUP FRUIT PRESERVES OR PIE FILLING

SAVORY:

  • 1 CUP COOKED, SEASONED GROUND BEEF OR SHREDDED CHICKEN
  • 1/2 CUP SHREDDED CHEESE

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 400°F (200°C).
2. ROLL OUT PUFF PASTRY LIGHTLY ON FLOURED SURFACE.
3. CUT EACH SHEET INTO 4 SQUARES (8 TOTAL).
4. ADD 1–2 TBSP FILLING TO CENTER OF EACH SQUARE.
5. FOLD INTO TRIANGLES OR RECTANGLES.
6. PRESS EDGES TO SEAL WITH A FORK.
7. BEAT EGG AND BRUSH ON TOPS.
8. BAKE 18–22 MINUTES UNTIL PUFFED AND GOLDEN.
9. COOL SLIGHTLY. SERVE WARM.
