CLASSIC CORNBREAD RECIPE
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk (or buttermilk)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter (or oil)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease an 8x8-inch pan.

In a bowl, mix:
Cornmeal, Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, and Salt. -
In another bowl, whisk:
Milk, Eggs, Melted Butter, and Vanilla. -
Combine wet and dry ingredients.
Stir gently until just mixed. -
Pour batter into the pan.
Bake for 20–25 minutes,
or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. -
Cool slightly,
cut into squares, and serve warm.
