NUTELLA-FILLED DONUTS


INGREDIENTS

FOR THE DOUGH:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt

FOR FRYING:

  • Vegetable oil (enough for deep frying)

FOR COATING:

  • ½ cup sugar (for rolling)

FOR FILLING:

  • Nutella (or chocolate hazelnut spread)

INSTRUCTIONS


1. MAKE THE DOUGH:

  • In a bowl, mix warm milk and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add sugar, eggs, melted butter, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add flour slowly and mix until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours (until doubled).

2. SHAPE THE DONUTS:

  • Punch down the dough.
  • Divide into equal pieces and roll into balls.
  • Place on a floured tray and let rise for 30–45 minutes.

3. FRY THE DONUTS:

  • Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry donuts until golden brown on each side (about 1–2 minutes per side).
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. COAT IN SUGAR:

  • Roll warm donuts in granulated sugar.

5. FILL WITH NUTELLA:

  • Use a piping bag with a long tip to inject Nutella into each donut.
