Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 8 oz (225g) sausage meat (or remove casings from sausages)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, your choice)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for flavor)
- 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle (about 10x12 inches).
- Mix sausage, cheese, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Add mustard if using.
- Cut the pastry in half lengthwise so you have two long strips.
- Place the sausage mixture in a log shape along one long edge of each strip.
- Brush the opposite edge with egg wash, then roll up tightly to seal.
- Cut each roll into about 8 pieces (for mini rolls), or 4 for larger rolls.
- Place on baking sheet, seam side down. Brush tops with more egg wash.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
