Cheesy Sausage Puff Pastry Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 8 oz (225g) sausage meat (or remove casings from sausages)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella, your choice)
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional, for flavor)
  • 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle (about 10x12 inches).
  3. Mix sausage, cheese, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Add mustard if using.
  4. Cut the pastry in half lengthwise so you have two long strips.
  5. Place the sausage mixture in a log shape along one long edge of each strip.
  6. Brush the opposite edge with egg wash, then roll up tightly to seal.
  7. Cut each roll into about 8 pieces (for mini rolls), or 4 for larger rolls.
  8. Place on baking sheet, seam side down. Brush tops with more egg wash.
  9. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  10. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
