AMERICAN BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 CUP (227g) UNSALTED BUTTER, SOFTENED
- 4 CUPS (480g) POWDERED SUGAR, SIFTED
- 2–3 TABLESPOONS HEAVY CREAM OR MILK
- 1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
- PINCH OF SALT (OPTIONAL)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- BEAT BUTTER UNTIL CREAMY AND PALE (3–5 MINUTES).
- ADD POWDERED SUGAR ONE CUP AT A TIME. MIX SLOWLY.
- ADD VANILLA AND SALT.
- ADD CREAM 1 TABLESPOON AT A TIME UNTIL SMOOTH.
- BEAT ON HIGH FOR 3–5 MINUTES UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
