AMERICAN BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 CUP (227g) UNSALTED BUTTER, SOFTENED
  • 4 CUPS (480g) POWDERED SUGAR, SIFTED
  • 2–3 TABLESPOONS HEAVY CREAM OR MILK
  • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
  • PINCH OF SALT (OPTIONAL)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. BEAT BUTTER UNTIL CREAMY AND PALE (3–5 MINUTES).
  2. ADD POWDERED SUGAR ONE CUP AT A TIME. MIX SLOWLY.
  3. ADD VANILLA AND SALT.
  4. ADD CREAM 1 TABLESPOON AT A TIME UNTIL SMOOTH.
  5. BEAT ON HIGH FOR 3–5 MINUTES UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
